The VW Golf has a long and distinguished pedigree stretching back to 1974. It’s a stylish compact known for its fuel economy, excellent handling, and comfort. As your Volkswagen dealer, we want to introduce you to some of the features you’ll enjoy in the 2024 VW Golf GTI.

From Your Volkswagen Dealer: Unveiling the 2024 VW Golf GTI

Engine, Transmission, and Fuel Economy

The GTI is powered by a 2.0L 4-cyl turbocharged gasoline engine that supplies 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. It’s capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and has the inbuilt intuitive technology to turn every movement you make into precise handling. You’ll find your engine so responsive to your every need you won’t want to leave the driver’s seat.

You can choose a trim option with a six-speed manual or seven-speed Triptonic automatic transmission. All stick versions come with the complimentary 380 package, which includes Moonstone Gray paint, 19″ black-painted wheels, and an adaptive steering system. Fuel economy is high regardless of transmission, as the automatic scores 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while the manual transmission scores 23 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

Interior Comfort

Space can feel limited in a compact, but the GTI’s cabin is spacious enough for five adults. The legroom is a generous 41.2″ in front and 35″ in the rear. Combined with 55.9″ of shoulder room in the front and 53.9″ in the rear, you’re guaranteed room to stretch out. The base trim features comfortable bolstered seating upholstered in cloth with iconic plaid inserts.

Single-zone front climate control is standard, increasing to three-zone climate control on the Autobahn trim. The standard driver’s seat is two-way power-adjustable, which increases to twelve-way power-adjustable leather on the higher trims. In addition, leather upholstery and ventilated seating increase the comfort level even further.

Technology

VW is known for its generous level of included technology, and the base GTI features an 8.3″ infotainment display, AM/FM stereo with seven speakers, remote keyless power door locks, and heated mirrors. Available accessories include universal tablet holders for the rear seat passengers and dynamic LED turn signals.

Higher trim levels up the ante, and include a rear camera system, LATCH systems for the rear seats, adaptive cruise control, and electronic stability control. A head-up display is available, as are wireless charging and a 10″ infotainment display. Standard safety systems include lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot and lane departure warning.

These are only a few of the many reasons why the VW GTI is one of the most popular compacts in the US. Visit us for a test drive today at DeMontrond Volkswagen in Houston, TX, and discover the pleasure of being behind the wheel of a GTI.
